GMAT test has emerged as a consistent form of evaluation that aids business schools in estimating the skills and qualifications of the candidate. The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is conducted every year by the educational testing service on behalf of the Graduate Management Admission Council. The assessment measures basic mathematical, verbal and analytical skills.
Applicants begin the examination by writing two essays based on analyzing an issue as well as an argument. Applicants have to type the analysis on a computer by using a word-processing program in 30 minutes. After completing the Analytical writing assessment, applicants solve 37 multiple-choice questions which are broadly divided into two categories such as data sufficiency and problem solving. The quantitative section has 13 questions in data sufficiency as well as 14 questions in problem solving. In the verbal section, applicants have to solve 41 multiple-choice questions categorized into sentence correction, critical reasoning and reading comprehension.
