Coffee is one of the most popular beverage, being appreciated by millions of people all around the world
Recent studies show that this beverage, that draws so much criticism does not have such negative effects as usually thought. The best answer for us would be: it does not seem to be bad for our health, and it even might help us.
This study shows that there is no high risk of developing cardiovascular diseases for the people that drink filtered coffee. Results show that the risk of developing diseases like the one mentioned above, are not influenced by the quantity of filtered coffee consumed.
The conclusion is that coffee endangeres very little or not at all the health of its consumer.
Even if drinking a lot of coffee does not affect health, we must keep in mind that over beverages, like natural juice or milk, contain important nutrients, that coffee does not have.
Regarding other advantages that drinking coffee may bring, there are studies showing that consuming it constantly and in small quantities, coffee protects the human body against type 2 diabetes and colon cancer.
Large quantities of coffee seem to help at preventing diabetes – scientists have discovered that the persons who drink four to six cups of coffee per day have a 28% lower chance of developing diabetes than persons who drink only 2 cups or less daily. Studies have shown that person who drink more than six cups of coffee daily have a 35% lower chance of suffering of diabetes later in their life.
Still, protecting ourselves from diseases like type 2 diabetes or colon cancer, is more effective when we eat healthy food, like fruits, vegetables and cereals than by drinking coffee.
There are other advantages for the health brought by drinking coffee: scientific evidence show that drinking a cup of coffee daily may be benefiting for the health. The more strong the coffee is, the better. Therefore, scientists recommend espresso rather than a regular coffee. Coffee contains tannin and antioxidants that have a benefic effect for the heart and arteries.
Also, coffee can be “responsible” for the “disappearance” of headaches. It also has a good impact on the liver activity – coffee can prevent cirrhosis. Coffee contains caffeine, this component of coffee may reduce asthma attacks, and it may improve the blood flow in the heart region.
But drinking coffee is not recommendet to anyone. An exaggerate consumption of coffee may become addictive, and it can cause nervousness, tremulous hands and fast heart rhythm. Pregnant women, people who suffer of heart diseases, and those suffering of ulcer are advised not to drink coffee.
It’s recommended not to drink more than three, maximum four cups of coffee per day.
