For most of us, toilets have a sole utility: that of taking care of our biological needs. But, one day a 35-year old woman from Kansas stayed on her boyfriend’s toilet and decided to stay there for the rest of the day. Then, she got so comfortable that she refused to get out of the toilet. Unbelievable as it may sound, she wanted to stay inside the bathroom on the toilet and was even afraid of coming out. Pam Babcock stayed on the toilet for already two years now, and her skin has started to grow around her and sutured to the toilet seat. And she became a breaking news subject not only in Kansas but in the entire US.

The boyfriend of the lady who refused to leave the toilet said that the fact that she stayed there did not alarm him after a while, and he stopped worrying. So, Pam (the woman on the toilet) spent all her days in the toilet room on the toilet seat. How was she able to sleep, wash or eat, that’s still a mystery, but the basic line is that after two years spent on the toilet, she had to be taken to the hospital in order to part from the toilet seat, which literally became part of her (or maybe she became part of the toilet seat?).

The doctors have reached to the conclusion that the legs of the woman were badly damaged and atrophied, and the nerves were affected as well, so Pam might end up in a wheelchair after having stayed on a toilet for so long.

Pam explains that the phobia of getting out of the toilets has its roots in the time she was little and was beaten, and decided that the toilet is a safe place to stay in. Pam’s boyfriend says that he used to bring Pam food and the things she needed, as Pam refused to get out of the bathroom. Their relationship was still active and they used to talk and do things together, but these happened all inside the toilet.

This breaking news may come as a surprise to many of us. But what is more shocking news: the fact that she chose to live in the toilet or the fact that her boyfriend didn’t do anything about it sooner?
