Recipe:
1 piece of camera. Preferably digital. Preferably SLR (Single Lens Reflex)
Couple of pieces of light. Preferably sunlight for the start.
1 piece of model. Preferable good friend who won’t get angry if you take (not so good)bad pictures..
Call you're friend and get out of the house. Once you arrived to your favorite spot in the city (it better not be too crowded), place your model as you prefer and push the big (not red) button.
Congratulations. You are now a (amateur) photographer.
And now, things that you don’t know.
You should go to your favorite place because not only your model should feel comfortable, but also yourself. Try not to use direct sunlight. I mean, if it’s a sunny day, try to take your photos in complete shade (You don’t want to burn your photos*). If it’s a cloudy day, but not too dark, you can take them anywhere, because that's the perfect light for great shots.
*You’ll find out what I mean by “burn” later.
So....
Take one piece of model (remember to get a close friend, not the unfriendly neighbour) and try to get him or her confortable. No, not naked. Just comfortable enough for him to act casual.
And do not forget to use the camera on auto mode,at this point. When we’ll get to professional photo shooting, you’ll understand why.. Meanwhile, you should try to make your model as confortable as you can by talking everyday gossips for example. Usually people react to gossip. Your aim would be to take pictures of a real smile or a real grimace, a real feeling.
Then get to your computer, and install photoshop. Preferable cs2.
You can readjust many things there, if you need to ,like light and colors,or maybe cut out something that got in the picture even if you didn't intended it to. But remember that your camera has set everything for you. Auto shooting mode ;)
Have a nice photo party until next time!
Try to have lots of fun...
PS: Avoid using the flashlight! You’ll thank me later.
