Sounds like a dream, seething that’s impossible do to, or you think you might be exhausted from changing airplanes or trains? None of these options are true if you would choose to spend your vacation on a luxury cruise ship. Does the word luxury scare you and you are already thinking “oh, no, it’s out of my league…”? Cruise ships are now taking a big gulp into the leisure industry, offering a wide variety of services and most important of all, a wide variety of destinations. If you are worried about the price you will have to pay to cruise in a 4 or 5 star hotel you should know that also the price range varies a great deal from a few hundred dollars for a short three to six day cruise to a few thousands dollar for a cruise around the world.
So what exactly does happen on board of this floating hotels? If you haven’t seen one in real size, the first impression is usually “wow, I didn’t know it’s that big!”. As the advertising usually says, it is a 4 or 5 star floating hotel, but you can always have a good deal of a price for that. Activities on board vary form various games with the entertaining team, sports course for basketball, soccer and so on, a climbing wall, sometimes an ice skating ring, a beauty salon, casino, restaurants, bars, disco, pizzeria, day care for children, and the list can go on and on. One of the main attraction of cruising is being able to see several interesting places (or ports as they are called) during your stay on board. You can take an excursion everyday, and return for the fun on board in the evening. It is also a must to pack some evening or gala clothes, as most of the cruises have a gala night where everybody is dressing up for the cocktail with the captain of the ship, a occasion to meet the senior officers and have your picture taken with the first commander. If you are not too sure about the destination you have plenty of choices, from 3 days to 3 months cruises, from warm and exotic places as the Caribbean’s to the beautiful scenery of Alaska or the fabulous Asia.
